Make Up Trends for Spring

So spring is finally here, and along with the new growth of plants and flowers, we have a plethora of new make up styles and trends to look forward to.

With this in mind I took a trip into our Redmond Square store to speak to the girls on the cosmetic counters to get their opinions on the trends to watch for Spring 2013.

At Dior it’s all about pinks and greys.  Their Spring 2013 collection, Cherie Bow, is a dreamy look;  with soft, smoky eyes and muted lips.  Above the lashes, a thick line of kohl highlights the ethereal eyes to create a look that is classic French chic with a very modern twist.

To get the whole look in one stop, Dior have launched this seasons collector compact, the gorgeous Cherie Bow palette, which  is available in two colourways – Powder Pink or Pearl Pink.  Each contains an eyeshadow trio, black eyeliner and a fresh gloss.  Cherie Bow is available from Sam McCauley RRP €80.

Estee Lauder

Estee Lauder’s theme for Spring is Pretty Naughty, which as the name suggests, is a sweet, pretty look with a twist, the twist being more striking detail to the eyes.

A new release for the Pretty Naughty collection is Pure Color Sheer Matte Lipstick – this lipstick stick, comes in four shades of pinks and corals, and gives a weightless, sheer but bold colour.  Pure Color is infused with fruit extracts to keep skin hydrated – ideal for cooler Spring weather.  RRP €24

For eyes, Estee Lauder have developed Pure Color Shadow Paint – with shades named Halo and Sinister, these pots of shadow work just like real paint – they are blendable and can be layered with other colours to create an individual look.

At Clarins, eyes are soft but dramatic.  This seasons release for eyes is Iris Blossom, a Collector Edition Eye Quartet Mineral Palette – packaged in a beautiful gold compact, these four shades of aubergine, grey, charcoal and pearl complement each other to create a subtly dramatic eye.  RRP €40

Skin is kept light and luminescent, with their Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Light Reflecting Foundation creating a natural radiant complexion.  RRP €29.48

At Benefit, their new release Fine One One, a colour trio for cheeks and lips.  Three shades of pink champagne, sheer watermelon and soft coral combine to create a sheer flush that builds from soft and natural to bright and cherry.  As always with Benefit, Fine One One comes in retro handbag enhancing packaging.  RRP €34
